Farrar House - Sir George Farrar D.S.O, M.C (1870 – 1875)
A military explorer and devoted musician, he founded and planned the town of Benoni, Transvaal, South Africa, whose streets still bear Bedford names. He remains the only OBM baronet. The Benoni Trust was set up in his memory in 1977 by Deryck Humphriss, OBM, and sponsors music.
